The Satellite was Plymouth's top of the line mid-sized car and was based on the Belvedere. Debuting in 1965, it remained in production until 1974. The 426 Hemi engine was optional in ‘66 and cost over $1100, more than one-third the cost of the base car. In 1968, the Sport Satellite model was introduced. It came with the 318 standard. The 440 6-pack was available starting in 1969. In 1971 the Satellite was completely redesigned with the larger "fuselage" style body.
