The original Super Bee was an option package on the Dodge Coronet from 1968 to 1970. For 1971, it was an option package on the Dodge Charger. It was a low priced muscle car, designed to compete with the Plymouth Road Runner. The Super Bee package included HD suspension, performance tires, the 383 Magnum engine rated at 335 horsepower, and a bold Super Bee stripe and graphic around the tail end of the car. The 426 Hemi was optional from ‘68 to ‘71, and the 440 six-pack was available from ‘69 to ‘71. In 2007 a new Super Bee model was introduced, based on the Dodge Charger SRT-8.
