The 400 debuted in 1967 as a bored out 389. Its last year of production was 1979. The 400 powered many of Pontiac's muscle cars including the Firebird and GTO. Neither a true big-block nor a small-block, the 400 is externally the same size as all of Pontiac's engines from 326 CID to 455 CID. The 1967 GTO Ram Air 400 was rated at 360 horsepower and 438 lb-ft of torque.
In 1977 a high-output version of the 400 with better flowing heads and higher compression was called the "T/A 6.6." Available in the Firebird Formula and Trans Am, it had dual exhaust and was rated at 200 hp (220 in ‘78-79) and 325 ft-lbs of torque.
Note that most shirts that have a small design on the front, also have a full-sized image on the back.
